About Plasmapore®

What is Plasmapore μ-CaP?

The History of Plasmapore Titaninium Coating

Plasmapore was first applied to cementless Titanium hip implants in 1986. Plasmapore is a pure Titanium coating that offers an optimal foundation for the ingrowth of bone due to its balanced relationship between pore depth, porosity and roughness.

Why is the activL® Plasmapore over-coating unique?

Plasmapore has a calcium phosphate over-coating, which provides an attractive surface for bone ingrowth due to the combination of pore size, porosity and surface roughness. The Plasmapore coating, with primary implant fixation and increased surface roughness, helps ensure both initial and long-term implant stability. The increased bony apposition and porosity provided by the coating helps to ensure the long-term stability of the treated motion segment. The advantage of the activL coating is a key differentiator in comparison to our competition.

The unique structure, properties and processing of the Plasmapore coating result in unparalleled performance.
