Hip Replacement Patient Testimonials

Cathy's Story

"My recovery was rapid!"

Cathy, an avid horseback rider and full-time worker, was not about to give up her hobbies due to hip pain.

Cathy’s hip pain lasted about three years before she decided to have hip replacement surgery. One of the hardest things to do with her hip pain was sleeping. She could not roll over without experiencing a lot of pain. Cathy would wake up in the middle of the night because her hip pain made her so uncomfortable.

Tony's Story

"I have a new lease on life."

Tony first noticed he had hip pain about ten years ago. He was always a devoted runner and he started to notice that within a quarter of a mile of running, he would start to feel pain in his hip and would have to stop. The two years prior to Tony’s hip replacement surgery, his pain really started to limit all of his activities. For the most part, Tony did not have to give up any of his hobbies due to his pain; he just endured them with the pain and by the last couple of years before surgery, he realized his hip pain was severely hampering his activities.

Prior to his surgery, Tony would bike ride and walk a lot and found that he was in serious pain doing both of those activities. He tried getting pain management treatments, and at first it worked pretty well, but by the second year of treatments it had almost no effect and Tony was referred to an orthopaedic surgeon.
