Plasmafit Pro Acetabular System

The Plasmafit PRO Acetabular System with Vitelene liner represents a new approach for stability and performance when used in conjunction with a prosthetic femoral head and hip stem as treatment for total hip arthroplasty.

The System:

  • Two-piece system with a cementless titanium acetabular shell and a highly crosslinked ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) vitamin E blended liner.

The Stability:

  • High level of primary stability provided by hemispherical and slightly flattened acetabular cup design, combined with the rough titanium plasma spray on the outer surface.

The Integrity:

  • Vitamin E blended polyethylene liner provides a bearing surface with oxidative stability that maintains mechanical properties and resists wear.1


Plasmafit PRO acetabular cup features a modified dome shape for exceptional anchoring and immediate grip-feel during implantation. The equatorial pressfit directs forces to the rim which minimizes the potential for mal-alignment when seated in the socket.

Enhanced Surface

Plasmafit PRO acetabular cup has an enhanced surface to promote strong primary stability as well as long-term implant fixation.

Titanium porous plasma spray coating

Titanium porous plasma spray coating is designed to allow biologic fixation between bone and prosthesis for long-term survivorship. 

Internal Design

System provides a strong interlock between the shell and liner to restrict micro-movement and reduce the risk of osteolysis.

Vitelene™, a highly crosslinked polyethylene blended with vitamin E, combined with the Biolox®2 Delta femoral head delivers an advanced bearing surface with the aim to reduce wear and maintain mechanical integrity for high performance articulation demands.

Vitelene showed an 89% reduction in wear compared to conventional polyethylene after accelerated aging testing per ASTM F2003.3
